Due Date treatment is designed for expectant mums who are above 38 weeks gestation and would like to use complementary therapies to start off labour naturally. It involves the use of specific aromatherapy blends, acupressure and massage.

Acupressure is the stimulation of acupoints by applying firm pressure (no needles) on specific body points. It is a safe and effective technique to facilitate cervical dilatation and encourage the onset of labour. This treatment is followed by an aromatherapy massage where a specific blend of essential oils is used to stimulate labour. The essential oil blend will be given to you to take home with full guidance on how to use to encourage spontaneous onset of labour.

ACUPRESSURE IS KNOWN TO:

Increase oxytocin levels

Shorten time between the expected date of delivery & the actual time of delivery

Encourage downwards movement of baby's head

Support cervical preparation for labour

Minimise the need for analgesia as pain relief during labour

Shorten labour and promote normal vaginal births

Have a positive effect on labour

If labour does not occur spontaneously, acupressure still increases the chance of experiencing minimal intervention during induction of labour.
